Tyler Tanner will make his first 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck series start at Martinsville Speedway in the Kroger 250 on Saturday, March 31st, driving the #65 EF-65 Hand Cleaner / Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool Ford F-150. Tanner made his first NCWTS start last fall at the legendary paperclip.
“When we ran here last fall in the EF-65 Ford, it was my first series start,” says Tanner, a 20 year old engineering student at Arizona State University. “The weather was just terrible and it really limited our practice time. Even though we qualified for the race, I felt that we could have run better than we did had we more track time. Now that we’re going back, I think we can take what we learned and definitely improve on it.”
Team owner Mike Mittler is excited about returning to Martinsville with Tanner. “Tyler is a really talented young man. We had the deck stacked against last fall, but he raced his way into the field in the EF-65 Ford, raced everyone clean and earned respect from some veteran drivers.”
Mittler, who has mentored current Sprint Cup winners Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray, Brad Keselowski and Regan Smith, has high hopes for his teams’ effort on Saturday. “I’ve known Tyler a long time,” says Mittler “and I have all the confidence in the world that he will do very well in the Camping World Truck Series and make EF-65 Hand Cleaner proud to once again be sponsoring our effort.”
