No. 27 State Water Heaters Chevy Silverado NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES – RACE 5 OF 22 – Charlotte Motor Speedway

LESSONS BROUGHT TO CHARLOTTE: If you ask Jeb, he will be the first to tell you he won’t make the same mistake he made in Kansas.  The rookie driver was humbled as he lost the truck on the first lap slamming it into the wall and finishing his day.  The expensive lessoned learned was not letting the air pressure in his tires build up, and as he drove into the turn, it pushed him right into the wall.  But as every driver will admit, they all have a story or two about similar instances where they made a “rookie” mistake.

As Jeb heads to Charlotte he is able to put his rookie mistake behind and tackle the 1.5 mile quad-oval for redemption.  With veteran crew chief, Trip Bruce in command, Jeb is confident he can run Charlotte well and prove to himself as well as his team and family that he has learned from his experiences.

THOUGHTS FROM DRIVER, JEB BURTON:

ON KANSAS & CHARLOTTE: “I am definitely embarrassed about Kansas.  I knew better and I guess I let my competitive drive get the best of my patience.  I know my team and family were disappointed but trust me; no one was more disappointed than me.  I can say that I have learned a lot, received great advice from my dad and crew chief, and I am ready to tackle Charlotte this weekend.  I’m lucky to have a great support system around me and a team who can lead me in the right direction.  We have a strong truck for Charlotte and my crew chief Trip Bruce and I have some strategies dialed in.  I am excited for this weekend and so ready to put Kansas behind me.  We are going to put the No. 27 State Water Heaters Chevy in the front of the field this weekend!”

ON UPCOMING RACES: “I want to keep improving each week.  These tracks are new to me and there is definitely a learning curve.  I’m fortunate to have my Dad (Ward Burton) as a mentor because he has valuable advice and experience to pass on to me.  There is a bit of pressure – the family background – so I just want to run well and carry on the Burton legacy.”
