This Week’s Silverado…The No. 30 Qualcomm/Autotrac Chevrolet Silverado will bring chassis TMS-215 to Texas Motor Speedway for Friday night’s 250.5-mile race. TMS-215 is a brand new chassis for the Turner Motorsports team.
Pocono Bound…Nelson Piquet Jr. will be pulling double duty this weekend. After racing in Texas this Friday night, Piquet Jr. will head to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania for the Pocono 400. As much as Piquet Jr. wishes he was behind the wheel in Pocono, he’ll be having just as much fun tweeting and helping NASCAR with the official launch of their partnership with social media giant, Twitter. Time to Turn Right… Piquet Jr. is taking advantage of the upcoming two-week break in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) schedule by heading to Road America for his 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) debut in the No. 30 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet Impala. This will be Piquet Jr.’s third start in the NNS, and his first start ever at Road America. In his first ever NNS start at Watkins Glen in 2010, Piquet Jr. captured an impressive seventh-place finish.
Movers and Shakers…A rain shortened NCWTS race at Dover International Speedway gave the No. 30 Qualcomm/Autotrac team their second top-five finish of he season. After last Friday night’s event, Piquet Jr. was named the Featherlite Most Improved Driver of the 147-mile event, after making up 25 positions to claim his fourth-place finish.
Come meet Piquet Jr…The NCWTS will be hosting an autograph session this Friday June 8th at 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm CST. The autograph session will take place in the midway behind the main grandstand at Texas Motor Speedway.

This Week’s Silverado… The No. 31 Koike Aronson team will bring chassis TMS-217 to Texas Motor Speedway for Friday night’s 167-lap event. TMS-217 is a brand new truck to the Turner Motorsports team.
Hometown Boy… James Buescher is a Texas native and considers Texas Motor Speedway his home track. The 22-year-old was raised in Plano, Texas and now resides in Katy, Texas with his wife Kris.
Family Dominance… James Buescher and his wife Kris met at the 1/8-mile “Little Texas” track behind the speedway. On Wednesday, they are going back to where it all began to see who will be crowned “family champion.” The two will duel it out in a 20-lap event in legend cars provided by the speedway. Both families will be on hand to cheer on their favorite driver.
Turner Motorsports is Texas Strong… Not only does driver James Buescher consider Texas Motor Speedway his home track, but so does Turner Motorsports team owner, Steve Turner. Turner, along with his wife Sandra, live outside of Houston, only four hours from the Great American Speedway.  The organization is in its third season of NASCAR competition and has already captured six wins and one pole, along with 26 top-five and 81 top-10 finishes in both Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series competition. Turner Motorsports has expanded from a two-truck NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) operation in 2010 to become the largest stand-alone multi-series team in NASCAR’s top-tier touring series, fielding three entries in the NCWTS and three entries in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS).
Come and See Me… Buescher will participate in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series autograph session on Friday, June 8th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST. The autograph session will be held in the midway behind the main grandstand at the Texas Motor Speedway.

“Texas [Motor Speedway] is really fast. The truck carries a lot of speed into the corners. To be successful, the truck really needs to rotate so you carry your momentum off the corner and down the straightaway. Our Koike.com Chevrolet team has been really strong this season at the mile-and-a-half tracks and I think this weekend will not be any different. We just need to make sure we stay out of trouble all night and be there at the end.”

Informações Chassis (This Week’s Silverado)…Miguel Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Silverado team will utilize chassis TMS-213 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). This is the same truck that Paludo drove to a 14th-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway last month.
Unir Para Diabetes (Unite For Diabetes)…Paludo will be sporting a very different look when the No. 32 team arrives in Fort Worth, Texas. His familiar red truck will become the blue Unite for Diabetes/Duroline Chevrolet. The truck’s hood, quarter panels and TV panel will be clad in the International Diabetes Federation’s ‘Unite for Diabetes’ logo, as well as an image of Paludo and his eight-month-old son Oliver, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes three weeks ago.
Ele é Um Verdadeiro Campeão (A Real Champion)…Last week, IDF named Paludo as their next Blue Circle Champion, the very first from South America. The Blue Circle Champion program consists of Olympic and professional athletes and other high-profile individuals around the world affected by diabetes. Blue Circle Champions are selected to bring visibility and awareness to the disease, which affects more than 366 million people worldwide. The program’s name is inspired by the blue circle, the universal symbol for diabetes, which signifies the unity of the global diabetes community in the struggle against the epidemic. The symbol is also the logo of World Diabetes Day, the primary global diabetes awareness campaign.
Na Estrada Novamente (On The Road Again)…Following this weekend’s race in Texas, Paludo will head to Elkhart Lake, Wis. to make his first career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Road America. A two-time champion in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Brasil, Paludo has extensive road racing experience, but has only made one start on a NASCAR road course circuit (Lime Rock Park in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, where he started and finished ninth).
Dizer Olá (Say Hello)…Paludo will be appearing at the NCWTS autograph session this Friday, June 8, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the midway behind the main grandstands.
Fato Diabetes da Semana (Diabetes Fact of the Week)…IDF estimates that, globally, as many as 183 million people, (half of those living with diabetes) are unaware of their condition. Most of these individuals have type 2 diabetes. The earlier a person is diagnosed and management of diabetes begins, the better the chances of preventing harmful and costly complications. The urgent need for diagnosing and providing appropriate care to people with diabetes is therefore very high.
Corrida Anterior (Previous Race Recap)…Paludo was just a few raindrops away from a top-five finish at Dover International Speedway, but timing and weather put a damper on the day, ultimately resulting in a solid top-15. Paludo led five laps, ran in the top-five for nearly the entire second half of the event, and was fifth when it looked like the race would end prematurely due to rain. However, racing resumed briefly, and a necessary late-race pit stop put Paludo outside the top-10 just laps before the skies opened up, producing a 12th-place finish in the rain-shortened Lucas Oil 200.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Texas Motor Speedway
Texas is a really challenging track, but it’s one I really like to race at. It was one of the first Truck Series races I ever did, and I qualified eighth and ran pretty good. Since then I’ve gotten two top-10 finishes there, so it’s somewhere I feel pretty comfortable. To do well, you need to attack the corners and hold it wide open, and at the same time you have to balance the handling because you practice during the day and you race at night.

I want to spread the word that you can have diabetes still do whatever you want in life. I always say that diabetes needs to be your buddy; it’s going to be with you forever so you need to treat it well. So if you do, you will be healthy and it can’t stop you from doing anything.
I want people to open their eyes to diabetes, because a lot of people have it but don’t take care of it. I’m sure a lot of people know someone who is diabetic but they may not know a lot about it. I want people to understand what diabetes is and not be afraid of it.That’s why organizations like the International Diabetes Federation and American Diabetes Association are so important. The biggest project worldwide is World Diabetes Day, which is November 14th.
