Last Race Recap…Nelson Piquet Jr. made his second start at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and after starting fifth, the Brazilian native went on to capture his ninth top-10 of the season. The No. 30 truck battled in the top-five throughout the night before tight conditions relegated Piquet Jr. to an eighth-place finish.

This Week’s Silverado…Turner Motorsports’ No. 30 team will be using chassis TMS-208 for Saturday night’s American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway. TMS-208 made its debut at Rockingham Speedway earlier this season where it dominated a majority of the race after claiming the Keystone Light pole award. TMS-208 has also seen action on the track at Chicagoland Speedway and Dover International Raceway.

Iowa: Take Two… Piquet Jr.’s first Iowa Speedway start of 2012 was an eventful one. After starting the race from the front row, Piquet Jr. and the No. 30 Drink B team remained in the top-five throughout the 200-lap event. A late-race caution and a tricky restart caused the No. 30 team to post a ninth-place finish.

Nelson Piquet Jr. on returning to Iowa Speedway –

“Iowa Speedway is great track to race at. It’s definitely a racer’s track and it has its challenges, which makes it fun to drive. Track position is very important there, so hopefully we start up front and stay up front. The guys have built me such great trucks this year that I definitely don’t see that being a problem. I also love what Iowa Speedway is doing for the fans, it’s going to be a great race for everyone involved.”

Back In Iowa…James Buescher and the No. 31 team return to Iowa Speedway for their second of two trips in the 2012 season. On Saturday night under the lights, Buescher and the crew look for redemption from their first trip to the Midwest track. After leading ninety-one laps, the right-front Goodyear Wrangler failed without notice on lap 135, sending Buescher into the outside wall, ending his dominating performance. The Texan has four previous starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) at the Iowa short track. Buescher has two top-10 finishes and an average finish of 14th at Iowa Speedway.

Welcome Back… Turner Motorsports welcomes back Wolfpack Rentals to the No. 31 truck at Iowa Speedway. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Wolfpack Rentals is a premier provider of oilfield services. This Week’s Silverado…The No. 31 Wolfpack Rental Chevrolet Silverado team will unload chassis TMS-220. Atlanta was the first race for this chassis, which posted a third-place finish in its debut.

Last Race Recap…Buescher and the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet team rolled into the mile and a half track of Atlanta Motor Speedway with brand new partner Central Wire on board. Buescher and team continued their dominance on the intermediate tracks and posted a top-three finish. Buescher also managed to close the points gap from 17 to just six behind the leader. This was Buescher’s eighth top-five in 2012.

Buescher on returning to Iowa Speedway –

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Iowa and picking up where we left off before the tire failure. I feel like this place owes us one, not just because of my tough luck in the truck, but also all the other races I’ve run here. I feel like I learned a lot last week in Richmond in the Nationwide car to put us in a good spot this weekend.”

Miguel Paludo

No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet

No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet News and Notes

Back to the Heartland… After a one-week hiatus, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) returns to action in the 2012 season’s second showdown at Iowa Speedway. Paludo has two previous NCWTS starts under his belt at the 0.875-mile facility, as well as one NASCAR K&N Pro Series East start, all of which yielded top-15 results. Paludo most recently finished 13th in the July race at Iowa, finished 15th in his 2011 NCWTS debut at the track, and recorded a 13th-place finish in the 2010 NKNPS East event.

Giving 100%…In his three prior visits to the Newton, Iowa track, Paludo has completed 100% of laps run in each event. Paludo has tallied 601 circuits around the 0.875-mile tri-oval (400 in NCWTS action and 201 in the NKNPS East) for a total of 525.875 miles run in the Corn Belt. That number is equivalent to just over half the driving distance in miles from Paludo’s home in Mooresville, N.C. to Iowa’s capital city of Des Moines.

This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components team will unload chassis TMS-207 for this week’s race at Iowa Speedway. This chassis last hit the track in the series’ first trip to Iowa Speedway in July when Paludo started from the 10th position and brought home a 13th-place finish.

Diabetes Fact of the Week…Don’t forget, Frontstretch.com writer and NCWTS supporter Beth Lunkenheimer is participating in the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes and she needs your help. Lunkenheimer has chosen to walk for Paludo and his son Oliver, and has set a goal of raising $1,000 for the ADA. If you wish to find out more or make a donation, please visit: http://stepout.diabetes.org then click the Donate button and search for Beth Lunkenheimer under participants.

Previous Race Recap… Paludo was poised for a top-10 night in the Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 200, but battled an incredibly free race truck for the entirety of the 130-lap event. Pit strategy allowed the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet to rebound and overcome a one-lap deficit, ultimately crossing the finish line in 16th at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Watch and Listen…The American Ethanol 200 presented by Hy-Vee can be seen live on Saturday, September 15th on SPEED. Race coverage will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Iowa Speedway-

“I’m really looking forward to going back to Iowa Speedway for the second time. The more you race at a racetrack, you learn from it, so it’s good to be returning to a track we raced at so recently. We were pretty good there in July, and I think we’ve only improved as a race team since then. We need the truck to be a little freer this time. I was tight during the whole race last time, so we just need to get the truck to turn better in the center and keep the speed off the corners while taking care not to over drive.”

No. 4 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet News and Notes

Welcome to NASCAR…This weekend at Iowa Speedway, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will have a new face in the garage as late-model veteran Augie Grill gets behind the wheel of the No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado for his NASCAR debut. Grill, the son of renowned Grand American Race Cars (GARC) late model chassis builder Frank Grill, has a rich heritage in late model racing and has experienced success in some of the sport’s most prestigious events. This Week’s Silverado…Grill and the No. 4 Turner Motorsports team will unload chassis TMS-017 for this week’s race at Iowa Speedway. This chassis has not received any track time in 2012 but served as James Buescher’s short-track truck for multiple races in 2011.

Augie Grill on driving at Iowa Speedway –

“I’m really excited to be going to Iowa Speedway with Turner Motorsports this week. I’ve actually never been to this track, the closest I’ve gotten is Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I’m really proud that I’m getting this chance and I hope that I can make this worth everyone’s while and have a good run. Short tracks are really my specialty, it’s pretty much all I’ve run in the late model racing I’ve done, so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to really take advantage of this opportunity to race in the Truck Series with a team like Turner Motorsports.”
