ADVANCE NOTES

·       Bayne in Iowa

o   Trevor Bayne is a strong starter at Iowa Speedway.  He qualified in the top-five all three times he’s driven at the tri-oval track for a NASCAR Nationwide Series race, including one pole.  This Saturday, he will make a run at keeping the streak alive.

o   After leading for more than 20 laps in 2010, Bayne registered a top-five finish in Iowa (fifth-place finish).

o   Bayne and the No. 6 team are coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes in Dover (fourth-place finish) and Charlotte (sixth-place finish).

·       The Car

o   Chassis RK-708 has a history of impressive finishes in Iowa.  During the No. 6 team’s 2012 Championship season, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. used RK-708 to win at Iowa in the spring, and place fifth in the fall.

o   Earlier this season, Bayne used the same chassis in Bristol and brought home a 12th-place finish.

o   The chassis will feature the Ford EcoBoost paint scheme.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on Racing in Iowa:

“Iowa’s always been a pretty good track for me.  It’s one of the three tracks where I took three poles in a row in 2010.  The No. 6 team has been good there for the last few years.  They won three races out of four.”

Bayne’s history at Iowa Speedway:

“I actually ran the first race that was ever run at Iowa.  It was a wild race because they didn’t expect it to be so fast and we were blowing tires every 13 laps!  The speedway drives like a short track and has the speeds of a 1-mile track, so I think it’s a good balance and a good track to be able to pass on and make moves.”

Bayne on the No. 6 team’s building momentum:

“We finally got some races where we were still running at the finish line.  There was a stretch of weeks that were tough on us because we would have fast cars and crazy stuff would happen out of the blue.  But, we finally finished a couple of races in the top-five, and now we have to keep clicking those off.  On our worst day, we’re a top-10 team and on our best day we can win these races.”
