WALLACE VISITS FAMILIAR TERRAIN AT KENTUCKY

SPARTA, Ky. – After a fine run last week at Road America, Mike Wallace returns to the ovals this weekend as the Nationwide Series stops at Kentucky Speedway.

Wallace has much more than a standard relationship with the 1.5-mile track. Before the Camping World Truck Series brought NASCAR racing to the speedway for the first time in 2000, Wallace ran tire tests on the speedway surface.

Now, racers competing at the facility find one of NASCAR’s most challenging ovals. Nationwide drivers will race in the Feed The Children 300 Friday night.

“That is the roughest mile-and-half race track on the circuit,” Wallace said. “It moves the cars around. It shakes and wobbles cars. If we can figure out how to get through the bumps, we’ll be OK. It’s challenging. There is no boredom at all when you go to Kentucky.”

Wallace will be shooting to improve his 16th-place standing in Nationwide points as he again pilots the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller 01 Chevrolet.

THE RACE:  300 miles, 200 laps, race 15 of the Nationwide Series season
