ADVANCE NOTES
· Pastrana at Kentucky
o Travis Pastrana makes his second NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Kentucky Speedway this weekend. In his last visit to the 1.5-mile track, Pastrana had one of his strongest runs of the season, before rain shortened the race, ultimately leaving the No. 60 in 15th.
· The Car
o The No. 60 team brings chassis RK-777 to Kentucky Speedway this weekend. This is the third race of the season for this chassis, having raced previously at Darlington Speedway and Kentucky Speedway, finishing 28th and 15th, respectively.
· Recapping Chicago
o Pastrana battled a loose race car in last Saturday’s NNS race at Chicagoland Speedway. During a scheduled green flag pit stop with a little over 50 laps remaining, Pastrana ran out of gas and had trouble getting the car re-fired. He returned to the track happy with the handling of his Ford Mustang, but down five laps to the leader. The No. 60 team crossed the finish line in 27th.
o He remains 14th in the NNS point standings.
QUOTE WORTHY
Pastrana on racing at Kentucky:
“Kentucky was the only track so far this year that I was fastest in practice and top-five in qualifying (second), but I didn’t put it together in the race. I learned a lot and hope we can find the speed there to get to the checkered flag up front.”
