Red Horse Racing to Run Special Decal in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (Sept. 8, 2014) – Red Horse Racing announced today that they will display a special decal on the Nos. 17 and 77 Toyota Tundras at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events at Chicagoland Speedway (Sept. 12), New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Sept. 20) and Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Sept. 27) in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Germán Quiroga pilots the No. 77 Toyota Tundra and was the first Mexican driver to compete full time in any of NASCAR’s national touring series.

Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized in the United States from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 each year, to celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

“We’re really proud at Red Horse Racing to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We recognize the impact this demographic has on the future of our country, and of our sport, and we’re proud to be writing history with Germán Quiroga,” said team owner Tom DeLoach. “He’s a great ambassador for our sport and he’s helping to pave the way for other Hispanic drivers wanting to make their mark in NASCAR.”

Quiroga, driver of the No. 77 OtterBox/NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra is competing in his second full season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and currently ranks fifth in the driver championship point standings, 10 points behind fourth place. The Mexico City native moved to the United States in 2011 to continue pursuing his career in motorsports after becoming the only driver in history to win the NASCAR Toyota Series Mexico Championship three times. Quiroga is currently the only full-time Mexican driver in one of NASCAR’s top series.

“I’m proud to represent my country here in the United States as the first Mexican-born driver to race full time in one of NASCAR’s national series. My goal is to continue to be a role model for other drivers from Mexico who want to make the transition to the U.S.” said Quiroga. “It would be really cool to win one of the next three races running with our Hispanic Heritage Month decal. Not only do I represent my home country of Mexico, but I represent all the other Latin Americans who now call the United States home.”

The Lucas Oil 225 at Chicagoland Speedway is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1.
