Brickyard 400…Justin Allgaier has one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). While this is Allgaier’s second NSCS start at IMS, it will be the first race with the new rules package for the Series. NASCAR’s “higher drag” package is currently scheduled to run at IMS and Michigan International Speedway later this season. The most noticeable change is the nine-inch spoiler, which is much taller than past spoilers. He also has two starts in the XFINITY Series at IMS, with a best finish of 12th.

See Justin…On Sunday, July 26 from 11:30 – 11:40 a.m. EDT, Allgaier will appear for a Q&A at the Team Chevy stage located in the IMS infield.

Steidinger Foods…This weekend at IMS, Steidinger Foods has joined HScott Motorsports as an associate sponsor on the No. 51 Chevy. Steidinger Foods, located in Fairbury, Ill, sells breakfast sausage, pork burgers, breaded vegetables, fritters and tenderloins throughout the Midwest. You will find their products at most retailers under their Bird Farm, Link n Patty, Pete’s Pride, or Steidinger Foods brands. For more information, visit www.steidingerfoods.com.

New Hampshire Recap…The NSCS had its first stop of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last weekend. On Friday evening, Allgaier qualified the BRANDT Chevy in the 30th position. After running as high as eighth during the race, Allgaier’s car began smoking late in the race, causing him to pull down pit road. After diagnosing the issue, Allgaier returned to the track 16 laps down and ended the day with a 40th-place finish in the BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevy.

Justin Allgaier on Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

“Indianapolis [Motor Speedway] is one of the most prestigious tracks we race on. Winning the Brickyard is right up there with the Daytona 500. I think the new aero package we are running this weekend should make for good racing. The most challenging part is that no one really has a lot of experience with the taller spoiler and the other changes NASCAR has made, but that’s also a good thing because it brings all of the competition closer together. Indy is close to home, so a lot of family and friends make the drive over. It’s also Rick Brandt’s 50th birthday on Sunday, so hopefully we can give him a really nice birthday gift.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

“The biggest change this weekend at Indianapolis [Motor Speedway] is the new rules package NASCAR has put into place for this weekend. They have given us some extra practice time, so that’ll obviously be helpful. The changes should bring some parity to all of the teams, which makes for a better racing product on the track.”
