POOLE HOPES SECOND TIME IS A CHARM IN IOWA

Brennan Poole is set to make his 13th start of 2015 in the No. 42 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro at Iowa Speedway. Through 12 starts, Poole has two top-10 and seven top-15 finishes, with an average start of 16.4 and an average finish of 18.8. Poole competed in the May event at Iowa Speedway finishing 38th after an early-race accident. Following the race at Iowa, Poole’s next XFINITY Series start will be at Richmond International Raceway in mid-September.

MEET BRENNAN

On Saturday, August 1 from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. CDT, Poole will sign autographs, along with several other XFINITY Series drivers, under the track’s main grandstand. Wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 150 fans in each line will receive wristbands.

RIDE WITH BRENNAN

Poole will once again carry the DC Solar on-board camera for Saturday night’s 250-lap race. Tune into NBC Sports Network for all the action from the US Cellular 250.

A LOOK BACK ON INDIANAPOLIS

While Poole is driving the DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro this weekend, Kyle Larson was behind the wheel of the Dixie Chopper / Big Machine Records Chevrolet Camaro last week in Indianapolis. Utilizing an off-sequence strategy, the team made earlier pit stops compared to the leaders to gain track position. The crew made chassis adjustments and continually improved the car as the race progressed. The strategy worked early as Larson charged to the race lead around halfway. Unfortunately, a lap 71 caution for debris foiled the team’s pit strategy. Larson restarted 11th on the final restart and managed to move back up to seventh place, where he ultimately finished. This marked Larson’s fifth top-10 finish in six XFINITY Series starts this season.

POOLE ON IOWA SPEEDWAY

“I really enjoy short-track racing and especially running at Iowa Speedway. We had a really good car in May and had some early misfortune. (Crew Chief) Mike (Shiplett) and the guys have worked really hard to prepare another great race car for me. I think we have a good shot at bringing the DC Solar Camaro home with a great finish.”

CREW CHIEF MIKE SHIPLETT ON IOWA SPEEDWAY

“Iowa is a very challenging track for both team and driver but has similar characteristics to Richmond. Brennan did a great job in May and didn’t get an opportunity to show it in the race. He’s done really well on short tracks during his career, so we hope to continue that trend in Iowa. Since this is a stand-alone race for the XFINITY Series it will allow drivers like Brennan to be showcased more, which will make for a great weekend.”
