One Year Ago at Darlington
Greg Biffle drove his No. 16 Ford Fusion to a fifth-place finish Saturday night under the lights at Darlington. Biffle qualified 19th, earned a “Darlington stripe” just 16 laps into the race, and a two-tire gamble resulted in Biffle leading for five laps before settling into the top five.

Remembering His First “Darlington Stripe”
“I think everyone knows their first Darlington stripe. It was the first time they were there and every time since then. It’s the toughest place we go, there’s grip right at the fence and it’s kind of like Bristol at little bit, you need to be there every single lap. You’re bound to make a mistake, it’s 500 miles and that’s a long way so it’s easy to make mistakes.”

Labor Day Tradition
“I’m excited to run Labor Day weekend back at Darlington. I think it’s going to be fun with the tire the Goodyear people are talking about bringing. I think it’s going to be a great race.”

Biffle on Darlington:
“Darlington is a fun place. It’s one of the toughest places that we race. Driving into the corner at 190+ and sliding up about three or four inches from the fence, or at least you hope that’s where it stops sliding and riding the fence all the way around. It’s a demanding, tough, fast race track and I look forward to going back there with the new package and tires. I’m pretty excited about it.”

Puccia on Darlington:
“Darlington is one of my favorite tracks on the circuit. There is a lot of history there and we’ve got a really cool Ortho paint scheme and I can’t wait to see all the retro paint schemes this week. Darlington is a race you have to survive, you run up against the fence for 500 miles and you need to save your car for the end. Survival is the key, getting into the fence too early makes for a long night. The track is also temperamental, the conditions change a lot starting in the day and ending in the dark. Keeping up with the track will be a challenge Sunday evening.”
