ADVANCE NOTES

Reed on The Roval

“I think right now my mindset is survive. I don’t know what to expect. I watched the Cup cars when they were out there. I think there is an opportunity to be a really fast car and I think we are going to have really good equipment, but it is so easy to step over that line and wreck because the track is going to be so tricky. Luckily, it is not a cutoff race, but you have to be there at the end. We are going to have to be competitive and have to run inside the top 10 for points to get to the next round. In my opinion, this is going to be one of the toughest races we’ve had in our series. It’s as big, or more of a wild card, than if we were going to Talladega this weekend. We’ve never done anything like it and the track is drastically different.”

Charlotte Spring 2018

Despite starting at the tail end of the field, Ryan Reed raced his way from the back all the way to the top 10 Saturday afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Reed had a fast No. 16 Drive Down A1C Lilly Diabetes Ford but got loose and brushed the outside wall midway through the race resulting into a trip to the garage to repair a hole in the oil pan. Reed returned to the track to gain a few positions as the race concluded, ultimately crossing the finish line 29th.
