Tuesday evening, NASCAR announced that Jeremy Clements Racing was issued an L2 penalty following Friday’s Xfinity Series win at Daytona International Speedway following a post-race inspection. As a result, Clement’s victory will not advance him to the Playoffs.
The 37-year-old native from Spartanburg, South Carolina, led the final three of 118 over-scheduled laps en route to his second Xfinity Series career victory at Daytona.
The 19-year-old Gibbs from Charlotte, North Carolina, led five of 48 over-scheduled laps as he executed a bold final lap pass on Larson for his eighth Xfinity career victory.
The Los Gatos, California, native became the winningest Xfinity Series competitor on road courses by winning the Playoff's Round of 8 finale at the Roval.
