TEAM CHEVY DRIVER PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT

SEPTEMBER 30, 2011

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 29 RHEEM “CHASING THE CURE” CHEVROLET met with members of the media at Dover International Speedway and discussed racing at Dover, momentum, the current point standings and other topics. Full transcript:

TALK ABOUT DOVER: “You don’t do anything any different than you would any other week.  Just another race track that you try to do the same things that you do every week.”

THE 48TH IS TENTH IN POINTS; DO YOU EVER COUNT HIM OUT? “I’m not racing the 48, I’m racing myself”

ARE YOU SURPRISED AT ALL BY WHAT TONY STEWART HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO WITH TWO STRAIGHT WINS? “Well, obviously that is the way you would want to script it out, if you were going to script it out. Those guys have got off to a good start and to be able to win the first two races is the best way to make up ground and to make maximum points. We just have to keep doing what we are doing and concentrate on the little things and go from there.”

HOW MUCH DO YOU BELIEVE IN MOMENTUM?  “It definitely doesn’t hurt anything by any means. You defiantly want to feel good about what is going on. Win some races and be able to overcome some things, momentum definitely helps.”

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU START FOCUSING ON THE POINTS STANDINGS? “I mean you do every week, anybody who tells you they are not paying attention to the points is lying. You go out and you try to gain the maximum points every week and you want to know who is around you to know what you need to do as far as the points goes. It is a weekly battle for sure.”

AT THE END OF THE CHASE DO YOU RACE PEOPLE DIFFERENTLY BASED ON WHERE THEY ARE AROUND YOU?  “It just depends”
