LARSON READY TO BATTLE THE “TRACK TOO TOUGH TO TAME”

Kyle Larson makes his ninth XFINITY Series start of 2015 at Darlington Raceway on Saturday. In two previous starts at the 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval, Larson has two sixth-place finishes. He has an average starting position of 9.5 and has led two laps at Darlington. Larson finished second in his most recent XFINITY Series start, two weeks ago in Bristol.

ROAD AMERICA RECAP

The XFINITY Series held their final road course race of the 2015 season at Road America last Saturday. Road course veteran Justin Marks made his second and final XFINITY Series start of the season with HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi. Marks started fourth after the starting grid was set per the NASCAR rulebook using practice times because of rain. Utilizing a pit strategy similar to the leaders, the team stayed out under an early caution to gain track position. The strategy proved to pay off as Marks moved into the top five near halfway. Following the final pit stop of the day, the race saw a lengthy caution period with 10 laps to go, which enabled Marks an opportunity to gain back additional positions to finish seventh.

LARSON ON DARLINGTON RACEWAY

“I’m really excited about returning to Darlington this weekend. I’ve had two good runs there in the past and the track is so much fun to race at. We finished second in Bristol and the team continues to get better each week. We’re more determined than ever to get back into victory lane.”

CREW CHIEF MIKE SHIPLETT ON DARLINGTON RACEWAY

“In Darlington you need to have a setup that can compromise with both ends of the track being different. Traffic will play a factor, so the driver who can navigate it the fastest will be successful. Kyle’s record in Darlington in the XFINITY Series is very impressive, so we feel like we have a chance to win.”
